La Point Loma peninsula abrite un parc qui rend hommage au premier Européen qui posa le pied en Californie en 1542, le Portugais Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. La péninsule offre une belle vue sur San Diego et ses falaises (Sunset Cliffs) sont vraiment spectaculaires. Au pied de ses falaises de nombreuses piscines naturelles (à marée basse) se forment dans les rochers.
Le parc abrite une statue de Cabrillo, un vieux phare datant de 1855 et un cimetière militaire (puisque la pointe sud de la péninsule appartient à l'armée).
The Point Loma peninsula features a park that honors the first European who arrived in California in 1542, the Portuguese Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. The Peninsula offers a beautiful view of San Diego and its cliffs (Sunset Cliffs) are really spectacular. At the bottom of these cliffs many natural pools (at low tide) are formed in the rocks.
In the park you can find a statue of Cabrillo, an old lighthouse built in 1855 and a military cemetery (as the southern part of the peninsula belongs to the army).
